SINCE THE FALL OF 1993
Kidworks is an intergenerational service project involving chidren ages 4 through high school working cooperatively. Once a month, from October through April, the kids meet after the worship service to share a simple lunch and complete a service project. They then deliver the projects they have created to elderly/in need members of the congregation or to local nursing homes.
October: Decorate Halloween pumpkins. Many of the kids wear Halloween costumes.
November: “Glean” the congregation for fruit for use in making fruit baskets.
December: Create a project appropriate for Christmas.
January: Make chicken noodle soup from scratch.
February: Take kids “in need” to Chuck E. Cheese.
March: Make milk and honey bread for Maundy Thursday and Easter Communion services.
April: Decorate flowerpots for replanting flowers, paint sun-catchers, or perform another appropriate seasonal project.
